Yes, I am thankful to the Lord for much.
- That my eternal life does not depend upon my behavior before, during or since my decision to trust Christ alone as my Savior.
- That by God’s Grace alone through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone as my Savior is wholly sufficient for Eternal Life..
- That I have wonderful friends who visit and join together in this ministry to challenge and encourage us.
- That someone cared enough about me that he explained the Gospel so clearly that even I could understand and trust in Christ for my salvation.
- That, in spite of my health and age, I am still able to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
- That the Lord invites us to serve Him by His Grace — not by threats, force or intimidation.
- For my Sweetheart wife Shirley, whom the Lord provided to me 8 1/2 years ago.
And too much more.. Thanks to all of you.
If you wish please share that for which you are thankful. Duplicates as well as original thoughts are welcome.
John,
Thanks for those wonderful verses and commentary. You have been a wonderful, encouraging asset in our effort to share the real blessings of God’s Free Salvation by Grace alone through Faith alone in Christ alone.
Shirley and I are so thankful for the wonderful Bible fellowship and concern for Truth shown by you and each one of our friends who read and comment here.
We also realize we are simply sinners — saved by God’s Grace and are blessed to be used by Him as conduits through which God’s Truth can flow. We realize too that sharing God’s Gospel of Salvation and exposing those who would pervert it is an awesome and breathtaking responsibility.
I pray daily for all of us — that we will remain true to God’s Word and won’t be drawn aside by some lie.
And we appreciate your continuing prayers for all of us as we write and comment — approaching another year in the battle for the simplicity and clarity of the Good News — The Gospel of Jesus Christ.
In Jesus Christ eternally, Jack
Thanks, John, for your kind words and wonderful Scriptures. Thanks, too, for your invaluable contribution to this site in recent months. I have learned much from you!
Bruce
I am thankful that God loved me so much that He would give His only begotten Son so that I could have eternal life.
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosever believeth in Him shall not persish, but have everlasting life.”
I am thankful that Jesus took my sin burden upon Himself and that His righteousness has been imputed to me:
Romans 4:25 “Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.”
I am thankful that nothing will ever separate me from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord:
Romans 8:38-39 “For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
I am thankful for this website, that has helped me become better rooted in my faith:
Colossians 2:7 “Rooted and built up in Him, and stablished in the faith as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving”
I am thankful for the truth espoused by Jack, Bruce and others who frequent this site to help us detect, expose and reject the spiritual fraud, perversions of Grace and false gospels so pervasive in the Church today:
Colossians 2:8 “Beware lest man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.”
Thanks, Faith, for your kind wishes. Blessings to you and your family. It truly is wonderful to rest in the finished work of Christ Jesus and not having to rely on our own good works to save us or to keep us saved. That is real assurance.
Faith,
Thanks, It is amazing when we realize how totally secure we are in Christ — how much we love Him and are thankful for all he has done and will do in our behalf now and in Eternity. Rejoice!!
Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. Philippians 4:4
In Jesus Christ eternally, Jack
Just a late Happy Thanksgiving to all of you guys!
You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Thankful this year for the lessons learned spiritually- knowing with full confidence that submitting to Lord in patience results in His peace in our lives. Thankful that He is the One that completes His work in us :). Thankful that I can rest in that and thankful that it has made me realize how much I do love my Savior! Not perfection and not works, but a sinner in sanctifying condition.
The Lord bless and keep you
Thanks Pearl!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.
Pearl,
Thank you for your comments.. and we are grateful for your contributions to this ministry.
It is good to see the many things (and the Lord and His people) for which we can be thankful.
In Jesus Christ eternally, Jack
I’m thankful for…
~God’s amazing grace and unconditional love;
~My Christian husband, who loves me even though…;
~Each of my children believing in Jesus Christ alone for salvation, and that they are very close to one another;
~Living in a free country where in spite of things growing worse, we still may worship freely, educate freely, communicate freely, receive the best medical care, and live in peace and safety, all contrary to most of the world’s population;
~Jack and Bruce’s Blog. I have learned so much this last year and have your blog to thank, together with many of the good people here who have contributed to my growth.
Happy Thanksgiving Jack, Bruce and all!
Thanks Bruce,
Our gratefulness is mutual. This blog would be nothing without the Lord, you and our many friends.
I realize it is impossible for anyone to itemize all the multiple blessings we have been given by the Lord.
Have a wonderful weekend with your family.
In Jesus Christ eternally, Jack
Hi Jack,
Great post!
I am truly grateful for my friendship with you and with all of the wonderful regular contributors on your site.
I, too, am thankful for a wonderful wife, Karen, of 27 years and three happy healthy grown children.
I am grateful for a Christian mom and a large extended family who mostly all know the Lord.
And most of all, I am thankful to God for his beautiful GIFT of salvation through his Son Jesus Christ, which I didn’t have to earn and for complete assurance of salvation based upon God’s promises in Scripture and not on my own good works (John 10:27-30).
Bruce
Hi Cindy,
Thanks for dropping by and come back soon. Seems we agree on God’s Free Grace in all of life, temporal and eternal. 😎
And we are also thankful that His Holy Spirit guides us 24/7 “into all Truth.” (John 16:13)
We just pray we believers will all follow as He guides by His Holy Word..
In Jesus Christ eternally, Jack
just like you, i am thankful for the gospel of grace, without which i would be lost. i am also thankful that the Holy Spirit guides me every day and that He does not give up on me when i am too hard-headed to listen. i am thankful that Christ Jesus loves us enough to die for us!
