I have also noticed that Obama, when speaking in a mixed group Libs and Conservatives) expects to be addressed as “Mr. President” not Barack — but, as he did in his first joint meeting with Reps and Dems, spoke disrespectfully to Sen McCain, “But we won, John.” He does that frequently in a dismissive way and will probably do it today in the latest of his regular TV speeches sponsored by the media.
And about Warren, his “theology” is one of absolute ecumenism.. especially with Muslims.. as when at the inauguration prayer for Obama, Warren used the Islamic name for Jesus (isus I believe). The man has sold out to the enemy in every way possible. Their idea of Chr-Islam is a fact and growing. (depending on how they want to spell it). Chris-lam or Chr-Islam.

As I searched for information about “Chrislam” it was difficult to know where to get unbiased information. But one thing that seemed to come up consistently is how some mega-church pastors, like Rick Warren, have sidled up to the Muslim community with warm ecumenical undertones. This is very concerning to me, especially when you see Warren in photos embracing a Muslim cleric and speaking at two Islamic conferences. This is not, as some defenders say, like Jesus going into the houses of publicans and “sinners.” Contrariwise, these actions and speeches by Warren and others are seemingly designed to be broad big-arms overtures of reaching out to the leadership of other world religions. I bet you won’t hear Warren preach the gospel message of 1 Corinthians 15:1-8 at any Islamic conference! Jack Van Impe, on his TV program, recently spoke out against Warren and Robt. Schuller, Sr. and others for their ecumenical involvements. Van Impe even chose to resign from any connection to TBN (long overdue) when one of his shows on this subject was yanked from the air by TBN leadership.

Thanks for the links on history. The Jefferson one was quite eye-opening; I bet you’ll never hear that part of American history taught in our public schools and universities. The Obama/Muslim connection story was also fascinating because it showed that, although all of these facts were known about Obama long before he was elected, the media (except for a few like Hannity) chose to utterly ignore all of this.
Just an observation: have any of you noticed that most “journalists” and politicians on TV and radio generally refer to the president as “Obama?” Even Bush II, who was scorned by the press, was usually called “President Bush” or “Mr. President.”

Ellison probably used it as a prop to render a slap in the face of the memory of Thomas Jefferson.. as he was sworn in. Sorta saying, “now WE Muslims are in the driver’s seat..”

That article is a good history lesson. I knew Congressman Ellison from Minnesota was a radical Muslim.. and I had heard that he used a Koran at his swearing-in. BUT I did not recall it was Thomas Jefferson’s Koran which Ellison used “as a prop.”
and the reason from that article why Jefferson owned a Koran:
“At the time Jefferson owned the book, he needed to know everything possible about Muslims because he was about to advocate war against the Islamic “Barbary” states of Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia and Tripoli.” Those Islamic pirates were kidnapping Christians and Africans for slaves.

I noticed that “halal” thing on the Costco package some time ago and even announced it to my husband. That was a surreal moment.
And speaking of Thomas Jefferson’s so-called respect for Islam, I read this article back in 2007 in Zola Levitt’s newsletter about the time the first Muslim US Congressman was sworn into office using Jefferson’s Koran, citing that he was a visionary. Of course, few bothered to question why Jefferson even owned a Koran, so this gentleman wrote this very interesting historical article:

The “halal” foods issue would not be alarming if it were just one isolated occurrence. But you point out well in your article that the tentacles of Islam are ever-spreading in our society. The “Chris-lam” movement within fringe Christianity is strong evidence that even the church is being affected (or maybe “infected” is a better word).
