No Home Bible Studies??

What is our beloved country becoming?

What if this were a weekly Woman’s Bridge Club or a bunch of kids playing board games? Read the whole thing — after you read this quote from the World Net Daily article:

“A  San Diego pastor and his wife claim they were interrogated by a county official and warned they will face escalating fines if they continue to hold Bible studies in their home.

The couple, whose names are being withheld until a demand letter can be filed on their behalf, told their attorney a county government employee knocked on their door on Good Friday, asking a litany of questions about their Tuesday night Bible studies, which are attended by approximately 15 people.

“Do you have a regular weekly meeting in your home? Do you sing? Do you say ‘amen’?” the official reportedly asked. “Do you say, ‘Praise the Lord’?”

The pastor’s wife answered yes.

She says she was then told, however, that she must stop holding “religious assemblies” until she and her husband obtain a Major Use Permit from the county, a permit that often involves traffic and environmental studies, compliance with parking and sidewalk regulations and costs that top tens of thousands of dollars.

Our Republic is becoming unrecognizable!! Pray for our country and leaders — that all will trust Jesus Christ as Savior.

  1. Thanks Z and Titus2Woman,

The idea of government control of everything is becoming a routine thing.

Yes, God is in control but He often will leave us believers to our own devices if we abandon His wisdom and wishes.

Let us preach the Gospel of God’s Grace and win more people to be true Believers in Christ. Without that our Republic is sunk.

    In Jesus Christ eternally,

    ExP(Jack)

  2. OH.WOW. We’ve homechurched for YEARS, and just think of all the big churches that have small groups to meet weekly. Very sad, indeed. (((((HUGS))))) sandi

  3. Sometimes, WorldNet gets a little ‘over the top’. I’m HOPING against hope this is one of those cases. BUT, with the way things are going, who knows, right?
I wonder if the church where my Comm. Bible Study meets with 200 women will have to file something……or if the many splinter bible studies from our group, meeting in homes at night, will need to? WOW! Let’s hope sanity prevails..but, after all, they DID vote for Obama in great numbers! So…what sanity?
God’s in control…I keep saying that and I keep trying to hold tight. Thanks for this warning; we need to keep our eyes open and take our country back!
