A True Story From Max

Here is a cute story with a great Biblical moral from long-time friend, Max Taylor.  The Bible verse that illustrates his story is:
“And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.” Luke 4:12
~~~~~~~~
I looked at a quote from a friend in which she said, “Sometimes you are the pigeon and sometimes you are the statue.”
That reminded me of something that happened to me many years ago in NC.
I was probably 5 years into the pool manufacturing business.  I had the worst day of my career.  We were pouring concrete on a commercial job and a had a form partially blow.  I was behind in time and over on money with the project.  I went to another job we were working and the concrete company had finished a job and had done an absolute nightmare job finishing the concrete.  I was next to throwing in the towel.  I jumped up on the side of the pool and sat down.  I exclaimed to my two workers, “This is the single worst day of my life.  Nothing else can go wrong.  Nothing can make it worse.  In fact, GOD couldn’t make things any worse for me right now.”
That is exactly what I said.
I sighed and less than five seconds later, a pigeon came out of nowhere, I mean nowhere, and dive bombed me and left a deposit on my head.
“I guess things could get worse, and I think I better not tempt God again.”  Moral:  Just what I said… things can get worse and don’t challenge God.
Grace Baiting – an Article on Lordship Salvation by Bruce Bauer
This is a must read for all Christians.. it outlines the dangers of John MacArthur’s heretical theology.
Quoted from Bruce Bauer’s article about John MacArthur re his “Lordship Salvation” apostate theology:
As I read the introduction and the first few chapters of the book [John MacArthur’s The Gospel According to Jesus], I was reminded afresh of the way that Lordship Faith writers and bloggers frequently belittle and satirize all who refuse to hold to their stringent theological views.  A waft of arrogance often accompanies their words.  I have witnessed just a bit of such mean-spiritedness from the Free Grace camp, but it seems to come wholesale from the Lordship Faith side.  Perhaps the movement takes its lead from MacArthur, who certainly shows no restraint in disparaging his opposition (more on this later).
Although there is no blue-print employed by Lordship Faith writers to trivialize or caricaturize opposing viewpoints, I have noticed the use of the following tactical tools.  This list may be thought of or entitled as:
“A Lordship Faith Guide for Denouncing Free Grace Theology” (Rejoinders to these allegations will follow the points being made.  …..).
