Have you ever wondered about the origins of Obama’s Leftist spiritual and political tendencies, (other than the advisers he has listened to and been mentored by for years)? One must look at his number one spiritual adviser for years, the extreme Leftist, Rev. Jim Wallis. Wallis and his Sojourners group have been pushing Leftist theology and philosophy for many years.
Here are some excerpts from World Net Daily article:
Frontpage Magazine (March 17, 2009) reports, “The most notable of [Obama's] spiritual advisers today is his friend of many years, Rev. Jim Wallis.” Rev. Wallis admits that he and Obama have “been talking faith and politics for a long time.” He was picked by Obama to draft the faith-based policies of his campaign at the Democratic National Convention in Denver last year. Why should this alarm us?
First, Jim Wallis has had relationships with the communist Committee in Solidarity with the People of El Salvador (CISPES).
Second, his “Witness for Peace” was an attempt to defend the Nicaraguan [Communist] Sandinistas! Wallis, together with the Rev. Jeremiah Wright (Obama’s former pastor of 20 years) “rallied support for the communist Nicaraguan regime and protested actions by the United States which supported the anti-communist Contra rebels” (Family World News, February 2009, p. 7).
Third, Wallis and his Sojourners community of fellow-travelers believe Fidel Castro’s Cuba, Hugo Chavez’s Venezuela, Daniel Ortega’s Nicaragua and the other revolutionary forces “restructuring socialist societies” are the communist paradises the United States needs to emulate in order to establish “social justice.” Writing in the November 1983 issue of Sojourners, Jacob Laksin notes, “Jim Wallis and Jim Rice drafted what would become the charter of leftist activists committed to the proliferation of communist revolutions in Central America” (Laksin, “Sojourners: History, Activities and Agendas” in Discoverthenetworks.org., 2005).

Why should Christians and Conservative be concerned? Because, believe it or not, Wallis is and has been exerting great influence on the “evangelical” church in America.
Recently, Muslim leaders issued an ecumenical letter, “A Common Word Between Us and You” asking Christian leaders to sign on. Some have.

Bible believing Christians MUST wake up to what is going on in our churches. We must also pray that Barack Obama will somehow trust Jesus Christ as his Savior. These friends of his apparently have no idea of how to trust Jesus Christ. Obama won’t have the vision or wisdom to reject these lies until or unless he is a Believer in Jesus Christ.

Doesn’t surprise me bro. Jack. Yes it does concern me, but it is no surprise. With the “Emergent Church” becoming so popular, it is simply another evidence of the spiritual decay of our culture.
Let me explain , Peter, if I may: “leftist spiritual tendencies” describes one of the many faces of the false gospel. Liberation Theology is one facet of this fake Christianity of which you may have heard. Basically, what Bro. Jack is indicating is the leftist political movement cloaked in a thin veneer of supposedly Christian camouflage. It is not Christianity at all, although it is most decidedly spiritual… but the spirit being followed is not the Holy Spirit. These are wolves in sheep’s clothing, hiding their allegiance to a false christ which they have constructed out of carnality and man’s ideas, not stemming from the truth of the Bible. It is not Christianity– it is a political movement in disguise, and it is smoke and mirrors, never reflecting Jesus Christ.

Interesting, lots of allegations, particularly about alleged biblical inconsistencies in Wallis’ positions. Yet, as if often the case, no actual biblical evidences or references, just the same old tired hand waving and finger pointing. For example, many books on liberation theology point to the premiere example of liberation–God’s deliverance of the Israelites from Egypt. Miguel Bonino, well know liberationist, has commented that the first thing from which people need to be liberated is their sin–through Christ. God’s expectations for us to engage in liberation, though, does not end there. How sad folks like you engage in smug slander of things you don’t even take the time to understand……. This to, we will answer to Christ for….

Oh, my goodness………a lie from the pits of hell and she’s gaining traction.
It’s sort of like why we’re suffering in America: People raised to not love America…Christians raised to believe Jesus is only ONE way to God because we don’t want nonChristians to ‘feel badly’……downplaying the greatness of BOTH truths, that America is GREAT and Jesus IS the way, the truth and the life.

The Bible instructs no one to baptize infants. Water baptism saves no one, infant or old guy. We must always remember that only faith in Jesus Christ alone saves.
Water Baptism is for those who have trusted Christ as Savior — and is an outward expression of an inward belief. Water baptism indicates a desire of a new believer to live their new life in Christ in obedience to Christ. No redemptive value whatsoever.

You need only read Wallis’ and Sojourners web sites (which I will not advertise), his ultra liberal associatiuons and friends you will see that Wallis is a danger to Biblical Christianity. Susan, if you are a reasonable Bible Student and a believer in Jesus Christ alone as your only Savior — Wallis doctrine should scare you as being contrary to God’s Word.
His interest is the propagating the social gospel — which is no Gospel at all according to the Bible.

I certainly do hope that fundamental Bible-believing Christians are bad news for religion, kathy! Religion is a system of rules devised by man to promote self-righteousness and “force” God to accept him. Christianity, the fundamental Bible-believing kind, is a relationship with a Savior Who is the ONLY bridge from a hopelessly sinful mankind to a perfectly Holy and Righteous God.
As for your kind concern for Republicans, well, I’m sure they appreciate it, as they are of the same opinion. They’ve been trying to oust us crazy Fundmental Bible Believers for a long time. We don’t think much of them, either; it’s simply a case of choosing the faintly lesser of two evils.

May Day is a National Communist Holiday and millions showed up in Havana to listen to Fidel Castro mirroring the illegal alien protest marchers in the United States of America, as Castro condemned the American Government. While the United States Congress and the United States Senate cave into the demands of the protesters and boycott participants.
