Bookworm has friends who fear a Christian Theocracy.
Well, as a retired Fundamentalist Bible believing Pastor, I can say unequivocally, no way that will happen! Book, please allay the fears of your friend. Bush is not a forerunner nor could there ever be a true “Christian Theocracy” in America.
However, if our country sleeps, if the left has their way and Americans acquiesce, there could be a radical Islamic theocracy, or such other brands of extremism.
Also, Atheism could become the “Atheiocracy” of America should the left be allowed to continue removing all vestiges of the God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and of Jesus Christ from our daily life.
An American Christian Theocracy??? Think about Bush’s Conservative government. Its members are Jewish, Mormons, Catholics, Fundamentalists, Evangelicals and religionists of all stripe; maybe even a few agnostics and atheists thrown in for good measure. Bring all of them to a table together and you will find general agreement on Conservative principles but loud and vociferous disagreement if discussion turns to the tenets of basic Christian theology.
For the most part, true Christians would rather be left alone to do the work of the Lord and would never change our Constitutional Representative Republic. In the past, religions called by the name “Christian,” mounted armies and crusades to kill and force their belief upon others. Those who understand true Christian teachings have no desire to force the world to submit to their faith. We will defend our faith and the right to share it, but forcing people to believe is not the Biblical way. We kindly present God’s message of Salvation in Jesus Christ as the Bible says, “to the Jew first and also to the Gentile” in love.
Historically, the Jews have good reason to be fearful, looking back to the crusades and inquisitions of the past. There is a history of slaughter and torture of Jews and Gentiles by those who name the name of Christ — but such doctrine is far removed from the teachings of Christ. Others, including all brands of Socialism, such as Nazism (Hitler and others – Socialist Germany), Fascism (Mussolini – Socialist Italy ), Communism (Marxist Socialist Russia and the spread of communism throughout the world). Such torture and threats have been encouraged to expand by Liberals.. National Socialism and true Christianity do not mix.
However, many who name the name of Christ are NOT Christian in my humble analysis of Scripture. When the MSM reports on things “Christian” you’d think there were nothing but Catholics throughout the world even though we all know there are hundreds of “Christian” sects. This holds true until someone like Pat Robertson opens his big mouth and suddenly the word “Christian” becomes the MSM’s favorite derogatory term, “Fundamentalist.”
Scripture foretells that one day in the future, there will be a true world-wide Theocracy with the Messiah of Israel, who is YahShua Messiach, the Christ of true Christians, ruling and reigning from Jerusalem. There are many Old and New Testament passages which address that future Theocracy but such is too much to expound upon here. Drop me a line and I will be happy to give my explanation.
Bookworm, tell your friend — Not to worry A Theocracy could never happen in America by true Christians.
